ShotDeck

I know we’re all short on time, and you may have several portfolios to scan through while making your decision on who to hire. Rather than make you watch 15 mins worth of projects, I’ve created this Deck with some of my favorite frames from projects that I’ve shot, so you can see my Visual Language in 60 seconds or less.

I have shot a wide variety of lighting scenarios between Documentary, Commercial, and Narrative work based on the type of project. However, I gravitate toward a certain feeling in my Narrative work, which you’ll see displayed here. Words that I and others have used to describe my style are dark, filmic, textural, deep, rich, and clean. I love pushing the image to the left, I’m not afraid to let darkness shape the areas of interest in a scene, and I get really excited when I create a monochromatic image and pop a tertiary color somewhere, like this background image.

I love Science Fiction and Drama. There are many Directors of Photography that I look up to and learn from. My idols are Grieg Fraser, Hoyte Van Hoytema, Roger Deakins, Emmanuel Lubezki, and Bradford Young.

I also really enjoy the works of Pat Aldinger, Natasha Braier, Marcell Rév, and Rachel Morrison.
